Dylo’s World

Wow, I never thought it could happen, but just last week I discovered a new game called Sonic the Hedgehog, and there is a whole bunch of characters that go along with him (like Cream, Shadow, Amy, Tails, and others). I’ve been spending a lot of time reading and pretending Sonic. I wonder if it makes Dylo feel lonely.

I WISH Sonic could come into Dylo’s World and help Dylo on his adventure!

I don’t have any gaming system besides our home computer, so I can’t really play any Sonic games. But my daddy printed off some color pictures of the Sonic characters and I cut them out (like paperdolls) and play with them. I like pretending Winnie-the-Pooh Stories with my Sonic characters. And sometime I include Dylo too!

Maybe Sonic and his friends can unite with Dylo and his dinosaur friends to travel to the Martian planet and destroy all the bosses! I still love Dylo alot. But I still haven’t gotten through the last level! It’s hard! But I know I will. Dylo can do anything! Epecially with a new friend like Sonic cheering him on!

I made this special box to keep my special stuff in. I drew some Dylos, colored them, and cut them out. Then I pasted them on my box. I put lots of dinosaur stickers on the box too (you can see them if you click the picture) because Dylo has lots of friends.

Dylo is such a happy creature, it makes me happy to see him on my box. I keep all kinds of stuff in my box, especially things for when I pretend Dylo’s Adventure in my bedroom with my brothers. I keep little rocks, and toy spiders, and stuffed-animal fish. I even keep some things I made out of Legos that are the Martian Bosses. I like to have all my Dylo stuff in one place–this Dylo box. Then I know where everything is at for when we want to play. And we DO like to play and pretend Dylo. My Daddy even helps out. It’s really fun, and we all get pretty silly.

Do you ever pretend with Dylo? I really wish he was real. I would like to go help him on his adventures. He’s such a cute Dino, and he is smart and brave too.

I know that a lot of you probably haven’t even finished the first version of Dylo’s Adventure (I’m almost done!), but I have begun to dream about a SECOND version!

I think that in the next version, Dylo (and his friends) should travel to the Martian planet in order to defeat the Martians or to get back some lost treasure that the Martians took from Dylo’s world. The Areas and Levels could be really dangerous and creative and fun. Instead of forest, and beach, and desert there could be different Martian places with craters, and mucky lava, and strange gases. There could also be new kinds of Martians to defeat. It would be so fun! Instead of trees and pyramids and Martian sphynxs in the background, there could be pictures of the univers and other planets and funny looking Martian cities (or even things they’ve collected from Dylos world–like TV sets!). Maybe Dylo could even ride in a space ship during the Bonus Rounds!

Well my imagination is tired out for now. I really wish Dylo was real. He’s such a nice and cute little fellow. And I really hope he gets to go on another Adventure–maybe even to the Martian planet!

Here is a picture of me and my brothers. They have homemade dinos that LOOK like my Dylo, but they are different colors and have different names. The red one is called “Skylo” and the yellow one is called “Mylo”. We use them to play Dylo in my upstairs bedroom. You can click on the picture to see it larger.

Today, Daddy stayed home from work and we created a whole level of Dylo on the floor of my bedroom. We used other stuffed animals for the other enemy creatures (like jumping fish, and spiders, and jellyfish). We made spikes out of toy swords. We used other toy dinosaurs for the dinos in the background of the Dylo game. We used a big plastic egg as the save point. We even used my brothers blanket (which is blue) as the water that our stuffed dinos had to jump over. We had jump pads, and even found some old stuffed animals that looked like Martians.

It was lots of fun! One of us would sing the music from the game, while the others would be the martians and creatures trying to stop Dylo, Mylo, or Skylo. We made a big mess upstairs, but it was fun. And it was great playing with Daddy and my brothers.

Here is a picture of my very own stuffed Dylo that my Mommy & Daddy helped me make. She based the pattern on a drawing I made of Dylo, and we made it out of felt. You can click on the picture to see it larger.

It’s not perfect, though. I forgot to draw the tail. And his shirt is blue instead of white because we didn’t have any white fabric. But I still love him. He sleeps with me at night, and sometimes when the day breaks, I take him downstairs.

We made two other dinos for my younger brothers. I’ll do a blog post about them later because it’s getting close to bedtime for tonight.

I can’t believe it, I almost got through Area 10 Level 3!!! It’s REALLY hard in some places. My health got really low, and I ended up not jumping through the islands with fruit because you have to land in exactly the right spot. Plus, my health started getting really low.

BUT . . . the good news? I got the Save Point on the island in the sky!!!

I haven’t been able to post a blog for awhile, because my daddy (who helps me blog) was out of town. But now he’s back, and I can do more posts.

I thought I would give an update about how I’m doing playing the game. I’m playing the “EASY” level, and I’m on Area 10-1 (it’s the level with the TV sets). This level doesn’t seem very hard yet, but I know that it gets really hard because I watched my daddy go through it. I almost got to the Finish, but I bumped into some spikes and died! I guess I’ll keep trying.

And speaking of trying to do it, I think I’ll go try right now on Mommy’s computer (but only for 10 minutes . . . my mommy and daddy set a timer).

I’m so excited that my daddy bought the full game of Dylo. We have actually made it through all the levels and have cleared the planet of the martians! (Actually, just my Daddy has. I’m still on the Meteor-Throwing-Spaceship level).
